This is a pretty long and actually a pretty descriptive entry of Warped Tour so yeah, just thought I'd forewarn you all... Except for the first paragraph that explains what I did Thursday…
Mk well, Thursday I woke up around 10:30 cause I had to babysit for the Fisher’s again and she came around 12:00 to pick me up and we got to their house and I got them lunch and then we watched Goosebumps, then they kinda ran around screaming and stuff and we ended up going to Alex’s room and playing with Barbie’s Polly pockets, and Bratz, yup. Oh and we also hid from the stranger that was lurking outside their house even though there wasn’t one. So, that was an easy $20. After that though I asked Mrs. Fisher to drop me off at the library cause my mom wanted me to take back 5 DVD’s and I wanted to get a few books. So, I got 5 or so books and I sat there and read for like 2 and half hours, it really wasn’t that bad… So far what I’ve read of all the books I’ve checked out are good so I guess we’ll see. Then later that night I went to gymnastics, my back tucks are improving I almost have my round off double back handspring. Yes!
As most of you know yesterday was Cincinnati's Warped and it was fun but at the same time it was terrible. Yeah, I'll explain. It's Warped so of course it's awesome, I mean a full day of music from amazing bands outside, you can't lose, right? Wrong. The set-up at Riverbend is terrible cause it's so small... and the line up of the bands playing was horrible! There were so many conflicts... I mean who in their right mind has Relient K playing at the same time as Fall Out Boy? The thing that really makes me mad about the set up is they had room to put the two main stages right next to each other but do they do that? No, they have to put them at the two opposite ends of Riverbend when you could have them right next to each other and while one stage is setting up the other stage plays then vice versa, switch back and forth throughout the day but oh well... Not to mention it was scorching hot outside but that was already a given.
Other than that Warped was a blast. Not to mention Corey and I got into the after party at Annie's! Whoo! More on that later... Well anywho, I got up at like 9:00 cause I wanted to take a shower before we left so I got up took my shower, ate some waffles for breakfast cause I don't buy food from these places cause it's not cheap... But then I sat here for about half an hour and I listened to Hawk Nelson finally and they're pretty good too, I love the song "California". Buy Corey got here around 10:30 or so to pick me up and I told her I'd be right there cause I had to get my backpack and I couldn't remember where I had put it so I looked trough the whole first floor pretty quickly but I didn't see it so I called my cell phone which was in the bag and it turns out that my bag was sitting on the computer chair... It was quite funny. But after that as we were getting on the bridge one car got out of control somehow and started spinning but the driver did some amazing driving and was able to keep from crashing, granted it was a near death experience but thinking back on it and how the driver was able to keep from crashing is actually pretty cool.
Anywho we got to Riverbend and while we were waiting to get in it was interesting to say the least all I have to say is Corey and I have very cool conversations. Also a member of Jupiter Sunrise was outside promoting their band and he recognized Corey cause she saw them when they were in Columbus so that was pretty cool and after we got in we went to the big blow up board with all the times on it and after we got it all figured out and times written down and stuff I was mad because the line up was sssooo terrible! I missed Relient K cause they were playing at the same time as Fall Out Boy, I missed Atreyu cause they were playing the same time as Funeral for a Friend, I missed No Use for a Name cause they were playing the same time as Amber Pacific and I missed Hawthorne Heights and Bleed the Dream cause they were playing the same time as The All-American Rejects! It was terrible! It made me want to cry, mk, not really but still you get the point. And there were points in the day were we either sat around or just wandered around because no one good was playing... They coulda done a much better job with the line-up, yeah... I know I've already mentioned that but whatever.
But anywho, after we got all that figured out we realized that we were also going to have to miss Jupiter Sunrise cause they were playing in the MySpace tent, again the same time as Fall Out Boy. And when we walked over to the MySpace tent I found out Relient K was playing an acoustic set and I was like well I can just come and watch that but nope, The All-American Rejects were playing at the same time.
So anyways, by this time we had the times of the bands we wanted to see and we found out where the ShiraGirl Stage was and the MySpace tent was. So we went to the Jupiter Sunrise merch tent and talked to the same guy who had been outside promoting their stuff and I still don't know his name but he was super nice and we talked to him for like 10-15 minutes. After that we went over to the right stage and watched MxPx since they played at 12:15. We met Jesse over there and pretty much hung out with him for their performance then he had to leave.
After MxPx Corey went to get water and it was $3.50 and since they gave it to her in a papercup instead of the bottle she was cool and kept the cup in her backpack and then we went to the Volcom stage to watch Amber Pacific. We still had like 20 minutes till they came on so we sat there and watched the other band that was before them then when Amber Pacific came on we went down the the small floor part and we got so close to the front like second row since it wasn't a main stage, yup, it was pretty cool. I had to miss No Use for a Name to see Amber Pacific but I am so glad that we went to see Amber Pacific instead. Their performance was amazing! It was so full of energy and I am now obsessed with Amber Pacific, mhmm. Will also did a backflip. Hehe, I thought that was pretty cool. And Will is the one with awesomely amazing hair and the cool shirt, in my opinion. I also loved how on their equipment they had a Happy Bunny sticker that said “Wow, you’re music sucks hard.” I don’t know why I found that funny I just did.
Then, when Amber Pacific was done we walked over to the ShiraGirl stage cause Paramore was performing there but they didn't perform till 2:15 and it was only 1:45 so we walked back around by the MySpace Tent and stopped by the left stage and MCR was playing, yeah we didn't really mind missing them but we heard two of their songs before we headed back over to the ShiraGirl stage and Paramore was setting up and stuff. Then they played and I think something was wrong with Hayley's mic cause the guitars totally overpowered her voice and you could barely hear her but my gosh she is soo tiny, not to mention extremely pretty, granted she's only 16 but still. Anywho, I loved their performance, they did really good and you could tell that they were so glad and happy to be playing. Afterwards we stuck around and I got an autographed poster which is now up in my room.
After Paramore we headed over to the left stage cause that was were Fall Out Boy was playing at 3:30 and yeah it was 3:00 but you have to get there early if you want a semi-decent place to stand to see 'em, we learned that with Yellowcard last year, but yeah it was so crowded for Fall Out Boy. Their performance was pretty good though, I mean it wasn't totally amazing or anything but oh well, they're more suited for smaller shows which is why I'm kinda sad they got big and everything but oh well, soon enough people are going to lose interest in them except for the real fans. But I left after they started playing Saturday, their last song, cause it had gotten to the point where I almost had passed out.
And I was going to the Jupiter Sunrise Tent cause that's where Corey and I were supposed to meet and I saw Jesse on the way there and walked with him for like 10-15 minutes till Corey came and then he had to go meet Devin. So then Corey and I were sitting under the ampitheatre part and then we moved up to the top of the lawn seating and walked over to hear Senses Fail while she stayed there and she called Melissa and went to get water then I met her back there and we sarted to walk to the right stage cause I coulda sworn that was where TSL was playing but nope that's where Dropkick Murphy's were playing so we walked back over the the left stage and again we got pretty close, about 10 or so rows back and we watched TSL play and they did pretty good too. They played 'Best of Me" first so Corey was happy cause she's in love with that song and yes, it's a very good song. And the rest of their performance was pretty good and afterwards we started walking back over to the right stage because that' where the All-American Rejects were playing.
So, after walking all the way back over the right stage I sat down over back further cause my feet were killing me, my toes in particular so I didn't see the All-American Rejects play but I heard them which was enough for me. Then Corey and I walked back to the Ampitheatre when they were done and sat there for about 15 minutes then got back up and walked around most of the merch booths. She got her big ass TSL poster and I thought about buying the B.O.A.T.S shirt but I decided to pass. We were also looking for the AP Tent but we couldn't find it for our lives so we just went back up to the top of the lawn seating and sat there for awhile cause I wanted to see Funeral for a Friend but they didn't play till 7:40 another example of huge time gaps between bands that I wanted to see. And her dad came up and met us and we sat with him for awhile.
But I went down around 7:30 and Opiate for the Masses was still playing and they kinda scared me... yeah, definitely not my type of band but anywho we stayed for about 20 minutes of Funeral for a Friend's performance and they did pretty good. Then Corey and I went to try to find the AP tent and we couldn't find it for our lives so we went and met her dad again and he showed us where to get the programs. So I gots two, one to read and one for pictures for my room. And then we left.
When we got in the car 97.3 was on and they said that if people still wanted to get into the after party they could probably make it so Corey and I started spazzing out like extremely and we decided to at least go and try to get in. Well we had no clue where Annie's was we just knew it was up the road from Riverbend so we decided to first try the way we had come and we didn't see it so we turned around went back and eventually got to Annie's and there was literally no line to get in to Annie's. I mean I figured the line would be huge but nope it definitely wasn't and Corey and I got in and we were like, whoah, we're actually here!
So, we just kinda walked around Annie's a bit before the bands finally started playing but MxPx played first and they just played covers since they played their songs during the day and they're coming back this fall with Relient K. Yup, I'm wanting to go to that show if I can cause MxPx isn't that bad but I really wanna see Relient K live. So they did pretty good and then Hawthorne Heights played and we also found out the Hawthorne Heights cd went gold so that was exciting for them and they did really good and I didn't feel so bad for missing them at Warped cause we got to see 'em anyways. Then Corey and I were kinda worried a bit cause we weren't sure if MCR was going to play next or if it was Fall Out Boy and we could only stay till 11:00 cause Corey and her dad had to go to Chicago's Warped today and they wanted to get at least a little bit of sleep before they left. So, we’re sitting there kinda nervous and all of the sudden I see Korean Tom Cruise setting up and Korean Tom Cruise always sets up for Fall Out Boy so that made me happy.
Fall Out Boy played and they did so much better than they did at actual Warped. They do so much better for smaller crowds for example, Annie's and Bogart’s, they did so much better. But we got to hear them play "I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy And All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me" the first time they played it live ever, so that made me feel special but I still wish I coulda been there in Columbus so I coulda heard "Sophomore Slump or Comeback of the Year" first time they played it live cause it's my favorite song on their new cd, oh well. I loved it though when Pete was like, “We’ve seen a lot of pretty fucking girls… ::short pause:: and a lot of pretty fucking guys” It was also funny when we got in the crowd near the end of “Saturday” Since Annie’s is two floors, only like 5 steps, but the middle is smaller while the sides are kinda raised and he climbed along the side of that and he started like monkey climbing the rafters, it was pretty cool. And the intro to “Sugar, We’re Going Down” was different this time. It’s normally “Girls, this is what you’re guys does at night when he’s in bed thinking about you before he goes to sleep.” Or something like that but this time Pete was like, “This song is from when you’re girl’s parents are out of town for the weekend and you fuck in her parent’s room.” or something. Either way the intro to that song is always entertaining to hear. But anywho, after Fall Out Boy we ended up leaving cause again, we didn’t really care that much about MCR, not to mention it was quarter till 11 and by the time they finally got set up we’d have to leave before we actually got to see them play.
But after we left Annie’s we stopped at Wendy’s! Yes!!! Wendy’s to the rescue! “Eat Great, even late, open till 1 a.m. or later.” Wow… I was starving I mean c’mon the last thing I had eaten was waffles 13 hours before, except for the water and little bit of Powerade earlier in the day. So, we stopped at Wendy’s and I got fries and a frosty, yum. Then they dropped me off at home, we talked on the silent road, but shh! After I got home I ate my food and then got on the computer for like 15 minutes then I went and took my shower that I definitely needed, I probably smelled so bad. I got so burnt though my shoulders and neck mostly and it hurts cause smart me didn’t wear any sunscreen and I was in the sun for what nine, ten hours? But thank goodness for Aloe Vera, it doesn’t make it disappear but it definitely makes it feel about 15 times better. So, yes, I’m totally and completely burnt, my feet were killing me and I smelled terrible but it was totally worth it and I can’t wait till next year. And Corey I dun care if you like it or not you’re coming with me, or well I’ll actually be going with you but whatever… Warped is so our new tradition, hah. You’re my HXC concert buddy and the unofficial Warped tour whore. Because that’s just you… I mean all that in a good way, of course.
Hm. Oh yes!!! Another ting happened today that made me want to cry again today! I so coulda gone with Corey to Chicago! My sister lost both of her games so my dad and I didn’t have to go down to Lexington at all! We never even left the house! This is so the second time that this has happened! I had to miss Columbus because we were supposed to have a yard sale that we had the week after, even though part of that was because I didn’t have a ticket and then I couldn’t go to Chicago cause we were supposed to go watch and “support” my sister and we didn’t even get outta Ft. Thomas. I mean I woulda been happy just going down to Lexington to get outta this town but nope… Not even that happened! I want to kick her! My mom that is. ::sigh:: Oh well…
Other than that today wasn’t to bad, nothing out of the ordinary. I did a few loads of laundry and sat here typing up this entry… cause it’s very long and detailed and I watched part of Notting Hill or whatever cause it was on ABC. Oh well, at least I won’t miss The Zone tonight. I swear music is one of the only things that makes me happy anymore. Anywho, I think that’s it. So, till I have something worth up dating on…
.*:Nickycole:*.
Also, I find it funny how it’s so hot outside yet my house is so cold. I’m always wearing my hoodie. Not that that’s a bad thing cause I love my Hurley hoodie, I just find it kinda funny.
